A building permit is needed for a variety of building projects. Some examples of projects that would need a building permit are:
- Building an addition on your house
- Building a garage
- Building a deck
- New wiring
- Installing and new furnace or Air Conditioning
- Remodeling your house
- Installing new siding
- Installing new windows in your house
- New Plumbing
- Changing the pitch of your roof
- Resurfacing of sidewalks and driveways
- New construction
- Swimming pools
- Fences
- Storage sheds
New One and Two Family Dwellings
Wisconsin Act 211, the City of New London is requiring all building permit applications be submitted electronically by using the website. Effective 2-15-17
In addition to the online application, you must also submit the following information directly to the Building Inspector:
- 1 set of blueprints
- Site plan
- Erosion Control Plan
- Heat loss calculations – Both are required
- REScheck – 2009 IECC
- REScheck – Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code 2009
